SOLOMON PATTON

What Patton lacks in overall size and bulk, he certainly makes up for in speed, quickness and big-play ability. This kid can really kick it into gear and is a dangerous mismatch as a route-runner and ball-carrier in space. His feet are among the best in this class and give him significant advantages as a route-runner. Reaches top speed rapidly and can stop and start on a dime. His ability to change directions is sudden and explosive. He can break down defenders with double moves without gearing down or wasting motion. Short-area quickness is elite when it comes to separation. Is shifty and elusive in space. Will consistently make the first defender miss and is a home run threat immediately after. His ability to separate and explode off the cut or after the catch is awesome. He can also be dangerous on reverses. He has huge upside in the return game. He's a good leaper and isn't afraid to go up in a crowd and compete. Works the middle of the field and doesn't shy away from contact. His focus and concentration is very good and he rarely allows the ball to get into his frame. He's a pluck and tuck guy. Patton isn't physically imposing or overly strong. He may not have much value in the red zone as an outside receiver, but he can play in the slot and be just as effective. Overall, Patton has vertical speed and when he gets into space he is hard to handle.
