ALL STARS PROFILE

RYAN HENDERSON

Henderson is an active cornerback prospect with good foot-speed and quickness. Lacks ideal size and strength at this point but is aggressive on both perimeter run and pass support. Best asset may be his ability to recover. Shows good quickness and more than adequate change-of-direction skill decreasing receiver separation and getting back in on the play. Possess above average hip-fluidity but can be rigid at times when he gets high out of his pedal. Will need to improve upper-body strength and add bulk to successfully press at the major college level but has longer arms for his frame and shows he can be effective in bump and run type of coverages. Has good leaping skills to defend the jump-ball. While he shows flashes of good man-to-man cover corner skills; he is most productive around the ball in underneath schemes. Demonstrates good pursuit speed and lateral quickness covering ground. Diagnosing skills are sound. Will come up and tackle but does show difficulty at times limiting second efforts by bigger ball carriers. Lack of size is our main concern when projecting for the next level; his ability to press, jam and set the edge on run support our question marks. Has good speed but does appears quicker than fast. Overall, Henderson has room for continued physical development and coverage skills should become more refined with experience and fulltime college coaching. A good, versatile athlete with BCS type of quickness.
