MIKE BELLAMY

Quite possibly one of the more sudden and quicker backs in the state of Florida and nationally, Bellamy is an explosive, game-changing type of runner with striking natural ability. While he lacks ideal size and a compact body structure, this guy is extremely quick-twitched and is a threat to rip off a 15-20 yard burst on any given carry. Quick and explosive through the hole. Hits the seams just as they open and reaches top speed within a few steps. Gears down very little when cutting at full speed and has great body control. Very difficult to get a direct shot on; can stop-start and change direction as good as most at this level demonstrating excellent inside lateral quickness and feet. Has a great feel for his blocks. Flashes excellent outside speed and burst to the perimeter with top-level break away speed when he turns the corner. While a great pick and dart type of runner who is quick to get North, he lacks great downhill runner power, blocking skills and every-down qualities when projecting for the next level. Not a finisher yet or pile mover between the tackles. Could develop into a complete back over time but may enter college in more of a change-of-pace type role. Bellamy is still a guy who warrants a bunch of touches when you factor in the passing game, his polished receiving skills and excellent space-player elusiveness and speed. One of the better game-breakers at the position in 2011.
