KEVIN MCREYNOLDS

McReynolds is a tough guy in the trenches. He is not one of those kids that will make you go wow when you click on the film, but he is a physical presence in the heart of the trenches. He does not have great listed bulk, but has a thick build and the frame to be able to add some more size. He will fit best as a nose / 2i at the college level which is the role he appears to fill now. He has a solid get-off. He is not a quick penetrator, but when he fires out low he can be disruptive by driving blockers back. Displays the ability to fire out of his stance with good pad level and generate power from his lower body. When he will bring his hands he is capable of standing a blocker up and being able to hold his ground and at times can knock a blocker on his heels and push him into the backfield. Does a solid job of being able to shed, but overall reach to be able to separate and shed consistently might be a concern. He does need to be sure to play low as he can be pushed back when he gets tall and lets blockers into his chest. He plays hard and is best between the tackles. He is a solid wrap-up tackler. As a pass rusher he is best with the bull rush. Will flash the ability to try and work to half-a-man and play off, but does need to work on separating from the blocker. McReynolds is a kid who can take on blocks and defend a gap and at times give you some disruption with his style of play.
