JARVIS LANDRY

Landry is a speedy, ultra quick wide receiver that is utilized both in the slot and on the outside. He has adequate size and a lean frame and is one of the quicker wide receivers this class has to offer. He reminds us of a taller Solomon Patton from last's class. Gets off the ball quickly and reaches top speed in a hurry. He is a space player with the ability to make people miss in small, confined areas and can also be used in the backfield out of the spread. He is a threat to turn a short gain into a big play, but is also a vertical threat. He's a very sneaky route runner who shows the ability to find soft spots in zone and knows how to eat cushion and create separation versus man coverage. Has very good hands-- excellent pluck and run. Hand-eye coordination is very good. Will extend his arms and snag the high ball despite not having great size. He is a good leaper. Will get downfield and throw a block. Shows tremendous concentration and will adjust to the deep and poorly thrown ball. Is also a clutch performer, makes a lot of big plays, particularly in traffic or on contested match-ups. Great body control. Shows burst in and out of cuts and has the upside because of his quickness to become a very good route runner in time. For a leaner wide receiver Landry can be a short-strider which gives the appearance that he may be a little tight in the hips. However, his lateral agility after the catch and change-of-direction would suggest otherwise. Also, his straight-line speed appears to be good, but he also may be quicker than he is fast which is something we want to track over time. Landry is an explosive playmaker that should also find a role at the next level in the return game which is where he could really be dangerous because of his burst and ability to make defenders miss. Very good prospect with upside to develop into a complete receiver.
