JAMES KITTREDGE

Kittredge is a physical kid in the trenches. He possesses solid natural size though he does not look quite as big as listed on film. He will line up at the defensive tackle position in high school and with his size now and frame we could see him growing into that role in college also. Could make the move to defensive end, but would have to fit a 6/7 technique type role. He has a solid get-off, but needs to be much more consistent to help himself. He is a physical kid in taking on blocks and flashes the ability to come out of his stance derive power from his lower body and shoot his hands. When he does that he can stand a blocker up and hold his ground. He does though need to be more consistent with that. He can come out of his stance hard, but needs to be more consistent with shooting his hands and creating separation so he does not allow the blocker to get into him and push him back. Works to not stay blocked. Displays the ability to attack half-a-man and get into the gap and stay square. He has a good motor and pursues to the ball. Displays adequate straight-line speed and can seem a little rigid in his overall body movement. He is a solid wrap-up tackler. As a pass rusher he will flash the ability to get the shoulder and get skinny and work past. Needs to be more consistently active with his weapons and be sure to not attack the whole man. Kittredge is a good sized kid with a blue collar style. A bit of a 'tweener position wise at this point, but could offer some versatility as a swing guy. Could likely start off at end, but we feel his best long term fit may be at defensive tackle.
