Hurst is a solid offensive lineman that shows very good consistency when run blocking. He has good size and overall strength. Powerful at the point of attack and gets good movement off the line of scrimmage. Comes out with low pads initially and is quick into the block. Needs to be consistent with initial hand punch; could be more violent with first punch. Tends to get a little high after initial movement and feet come together losing some of the initial leverage. Recovers well due to churning leg drive and works hard to finish the blocks. Stays square most of the time when reach and combo blocking; seems to have excellent football instincts and intelligence. Shows the ability to pick up stunts but sometimes gets hurt with the inside slant move; needs to step down flat when defender goes inside. Pass protection is solid and does a good job stopping initial charge of the pass rusher. Strong after anchoring down and refuses to be power rushed. Must be careful on the edges and make sure weight is down so doesn't get beat with speed rusher or inside move. May need to play inside for more consistency at pass protection. Hurst can develop into a very good offensive lineman but needs to keep working on lower body agility and more knee bend. A strong and powerful lineman that has a good motor.
