Gorman is a great athlete who first opens your eyes with the overall production and versatility he brings to the table as a football player. Will most likely get recruited to play free safety or strong if his body continues to fill out. Cornerback is not out of the question with his ball skills. Has more-than-adequate size and length and should continue to fill out well. Plays bigger on film. Very active around the football and covers a lot of ground showing great range and direct angles to the ball. This guy is one of the better hitters in this safety class and plays the position with a fast and physical type of mentality. Displays great anticipation skills as a high-point safety allowing him to make great breaks on the pass aided by excellent explosiveness and closing burst. Has a quick first-step and great plant and drive burst. Separates a lot of balls from receivers with his high- impact collisions. Limits yard after the catch. An intimidating presence over the middle making receivers think twice about threatening his underneath zone. Good overall run supporter who gets downhill quickly and drives through ball carriers with textbook tackles, despite being a bit high on contact. Speed is good and appears more straight-lined. Better in coverage when employed in zone schemes. Will compete for the jump-ball with very good high-point, leaping and ball skills. However, his overall coverage skills are unrefined. Lacks a smooth, consistent pedal and fluid transitional skills. Better breaking underneath than flipping his hips to run vertically. His ability to mirror tightly over quicker college slots is a question mark. Needs to play with more hip-sink. Has relied on his great athleticism, instincts and closing speed to make plays in pass support. All that said, Gorman is still a scheme versatile defensive back who can run, close and hit as good as most in this class. Needs a bit of polish in regards to skill-set but we really like his physical tools, instincts and intangibles.
