ELI ROGERS

This kid is really explosive and sudden as an overall athlete that could play both the inside and outside receiving positions and be a difficult guy to handle in space. He has just average height, but strong, lean bulk on his frame. Should develop into a college receiver and return man, but has excellent open-field running skills and versatility on offense to be utilized in a variety of roles. Has excellent speed and acceleration, plus tremendous feet and balance. He's explosive off the ball and has the quickness to avoid the jam. Gets in and out of his cuts with excellent agility and speed, exploding through his routes. Excels working across the middle and catching underneath passes. Finds soft spots in defenses and can settle in and make the tough intermediate catch. Shows outstanding open-field ability and can go the distance after any catch. He is very fluid and sudden with the ball in his hands and also as a route runner despite being raw in this area. Has the tools, but needs the reps and tutelage to develop and know how to use his burst and stop/start ability and turn it into one of his better assets. He has quick, soft hands capable of snatching in a crowd and plucking on the move with no wasted motion and the ability to get upfield immediately. He is a very good leaper, but is not a redzone guy. He will compete in a crowd and come down with some impressive grabs, but lacks the height to be a consistent factor in the redzone. Rogers is a player on a team of playmakers and as a senior we would be surprised if he didn't emerge as one of this teams' prime targets and best space players capable of creating mismatches downfield. Very good player with the upside to really become an excellent BCS level player in time.
