Hales is the ultimate skill player at wide receiver and running back - a threat to score every time he touches the ball, in the kicking game as well. He is durable and is a tough player for his size. Hales shows very good initial burst off the line and is a savvy route runner. He possesses excellent speed and shows the ability to stretch the field vertically. He is smooth and has subtle double moves that help him separate as a route runner vs. man-coverage. Versatility on offense and in the return game should help him get in the mix early as a freshmen at Texas.
