DARIUS JENNINGS

Jennings is an exciting, versatile athlete that could line up at just about every skill position at the next level and be a guy that you need to be aware of. He is a lean, fluid athlete with adequate height and while he makes a ton of plays on offense as a scatback and dual-threat quarterback, the more we watch him the more we feel he will end up as a cornerback. He is a smooth and flexible glider that does not look like he is moving all that fast, but he is and he's very elusive. Has good speed and is very flexible through the hips. On offense, Jennings is a change-of-pace. Is a quick, shifty and explosive. He has terrific vision and patience as a runner. Makes quick decisions and is very determined. Won't dance around too much and consistently does a great job of finding cutback lanes. He has excellent initial burst to and through the hole and displays very impressive jump-cut ability in the hole and then burst to get to the second level. As a cornerback, his feet, hips and change-of-direction are all excellent. His feet and fluid hips allow for him to flip and turn in transition and recover if caught out of position. Shows good pedal, plant and drive when coming forward and likes to mix it up in tight coverage. Has shown a penchant for blanketing receivers with enough savvy as to not lure a flag. Is involved in a lot of PBU's and he shows good ball skills and hand-eye coordination. While Jennings is quick and explosive, we are not sure he is as football fast as his listed times would indicate. He has one gear and lacks a second and does not always win footraces in the open field at the high school level. He is a big play guy, but maybe not always a homerun threat. Is more elusive than he is sudden and sharp in terms of change-of-direction. Overall, Jennings no doubt has a high ability level and he has excellent awareness and instincts for the game. The question will be where do you place him?
