CHRIS DUNKLEY

Athletically, Dunkley has very few flaws. He's fast, smooth, fluid and a nice leaper for a guy that lacks great measurables. He is the type of wide receiver that is dangerous in every phase of the passing game. He possesses tremendous speed and reaches top gear rapidly. He has just average size and a slim build at this stage, so he compensates with outstanding quickness, feet and change-of-direction skills. He is slick and slippery, especially when he gets the ball in his hands on screens, reverses and in the open field. Shows great surge off the ball and gets into his routes quickly. Relies entirely on his ability level to get open because he is so much quicker than everyone else, but will have to hone his technique and route-running, especially on intermediate and deep routes to become a complete player. He has quick hands and can pluck on the move effortlessly. Extends away from his frame and is a natural hand-catcher. Despite an ideal lack of height, Dunkley can elevate and attack the ball at its highest point and will extend his arms above his head in traffic. His explosiveness and jump-cut ability in the open field make him the ultimate space player, especially for the spread offense. To top it off, Dunkley's open-field run skills make him a field position-changer in the return game. Where you worry about Dunkley is if he gets into a physical matchup with a stronger, bigger defensive back that can challenge him, run with him and get his hands on him. He needs to get in the weight room and really add some upper-body strength to help aid him versus press or tight coverage, so he does not get out-muscled in his routes. Overall, Dunkley can run and he can make people miss. He is one of the speedier wide receivers we have seen over the last few years and could be an impact player early in his college career.
