BRIAN VOGLER

Vogler definitely has the height for the tight end position. He is a skyscraper of a kid at the position. He carries solid bulk, but more importantly has the room to keeping adding more size. He is a dangerous receiving target for two main reasons, one is his height and the other is that he can consistently catch the ball with his hands over his head. His size makes him a difficult matchup, but in addition to that he has good hands and consistently catches the ball with his hands and brings it in. He is capable of extending his hands above his head and making the catch, which makes him even tougher to defend. He displays good concentration and the ability to catch a bad ball. He has solid straight-line speed. He does not display the ability to run past defenders up and down the field, but he has long strides and if allowed to get moving he can cover some ground. He is not going to make many defenders miss once he has the ball, but he is a tough kid who keeps fighting and moving forward. Despite his ability as a receiver he is also a good inline blocker, but needs to become more consistent in this phase of his game, technique wise. He is not afraid to mix it up as a blocker and flashes some nastiness. He flashes the ability to bend his knees and stay low. When he does that he can create push off the ball. He tends to to bend at the waist and get overextended. He can get the job done now, but more consistency in his technique will allow him to be a very productive blocker. Does a good job of working up to the second level. Vogler is a good tight end prospect. He can produce in both phases and could be a weapon in the red zone.
