ASHTON DORSEY

Dorsey is an active defensive tackle and the more you watch him, the more you like him. He has a lean, athletic build for an interior defender and has a good get-off. It is not surprising to see him be the first one moving along the defensive front. He does a good job of playing with leverage and comes out of his stance with good pad level. He can quickly get into the gap, get penetration and because he gets moving quickly and stays low he can knock blockers back when he needs to engage them. When he brings his hands, he is tough to block. He can control the blocker and quickly shed when he shoots his weapons. However, he tends to lose his hands at times and needs to work on bringing them every time. He has adequate speed for a big guy and hustles to the ball on the perimeter. He is a solid tackler and plays with a good motor. As a pass-rusher, his ability to get-off the ball makes him dangerous. He can bull rush his way back. Nothing overly flashy about his pass-rushing skills, but he is able to use his get-off and pad level to get pressure. Dorsey is a kid with a good frame and the room to get bigger. He does some of the basic things very well and as a result is a productive player.
