ANTWAUN WOODS

Woods is surly one of the wild things at least on the football field. This defensive tackle is capable of being a handful and a disruptive presence and is hard to keep contained. He falls a little in the category of undersized at least height wise anyway, but shorter defensive tackles have been successful. You wish he was a tad taller, but it should not be a concern and he has good bulk and a thick build. When the whistle blows the kid is capable of being a tornado. It does not always look pretty, but when his motor is going he is tough to block. He displays good quickness off the ball and can be very good with his hands. He displays the ability to consistently shoot them and punch and keep some separation. He has good feet and can quickly work laterally down the line while staying square. He can quickly flip his hips to get skinny and work past blockers. He can be a bit wild at times and will do whatever it takes to get free and to the ball and that means spinning out of blocks. His style of play will lead to some big plays, but can also lead to some misses at times also. He runs well and closes well on the ball carrier and is a solid tackler. He does need to watch his pad level though as he can stand up at times out of stance and he also needs to keep his motor cranked to 11 until the whistle. He can be a terror most of the time, but he will also slow down at times it seems once he feels the play is out of his reach. Woods is a fun player to watch and has the tools to be a playmaker from the defensive tackle position. He may cause his coaches a few gray hairs at times with his style of play and he could clean some things up, but overall the good way outweighs the bad and he has the ability to be a disruptive force against the run and pass.
