Dye is the very definition of a defensive football player. He is a blend of  a cover corner, nickel slot and strong safety all wrapped up into one. He plays with toughness and great closing speed. Dye uses his hands very well to press and has strong upper body capable of re-routing receivers. Foot quickness and change-of-direction skills are both solid. He is at his best on the perimeter when he plays soft and an keep the ball in front of him. Should challenge for playing time at corner and on special teams as a freshman at UCLA.
