ALFY HILL

Hill is an interesting prospect because he is a big kid, who can move. He also presents some nice versatility. He will likely end up at defensive end with his size, but can be used as a linebacker or allowed to slide down inside and take reps as a defensive tackle. He looks all of what he is listed at on film and in a straight line he can motor. He has long strides and can cover some ground. He is solid playing from a two-point stance and at his best when he can run and pursue. He is adequate at working through trash and using his hands to shed from blocks. He is at his best when he can navigate around a blocker and close on the ball carrier. Playing linebacker may not be his best fit full time. He will fit best at the defensive end spot. He is tough at the point of attack and displays the ability to come off the ball low, get under a blocker's pads and stand him up. He is solid at using his hands to separate some and shed. He displays a good burst to the ball carrier. He moves straight very well, but can have a little trouble quickly changing directions and as a result will overrun the ball at times. He needs to take some better angles in pursuit and while he has a good motor, at times it seems like he pulls up if he thinks someone else will make the play. He is a solid and, at times, physical tackler -- though he can be a bit of an arm-tackler. As a pass-rusher, he has a bull rush style. He will try and punch and work past. He can power his way up field, but needs to be a little more active with his weapons and be prepared to have to face multiple blockers. Hill is a good defensive prospect with size and speed. He could also be a nice asset on special teams.
