White is a fluid cornerback prospect with the desired speed, quickness and hips of an upper-tier perimeter defender at the next level. Has good height and a long frame. Lacks great bulk, but is well-defined with a tapered body and a tight waist that allows him to open and turn smoothly without losing much in transition. Smart corner who does a good job soundly reading the quarterback or receiver, depending on coverage scheme. We would like to see him play with a bit more knee bend, particularly in his pedal, but he displays great feet and the ability to stop-start and change direction sharply mirroring receivers tightly out of their breaks in man schemes. Recovers very quickly in the short area. Loses very little in transition and closes with great quickness. Flashes good top-end speed and makeup burst when beat. Shows great body control, while adjusting and flipping his hips to make plays on the ball in the air. Has long arms on his wiry frame, which allows him to effectively press and get over blocks in run support. Demonstrates good underneath range and instincts. Breaks quickly when undercutting routes and coming up to make the tackle. Deceptively strong, reliable tackler. However, size is a concern when asked to set the edge in run support at the next level or press/reroute bigger Division I receivers. Needs to work on improving his upper-body strength. Is a bit high-cut and we would like to see him concentrate on playing with more sink in his hips to avoid taking an extra step when transitioning. Played a lot of safety in the game films we viewed and lacks some technique at corner, He relies on a lot of natural ability at the high school level. That said, White does offer a lot of scheme versatility because he covers a ton of ground at safety, will mix it up down in the box in run support and can effectively play a variety of coverages at corner. A savvy and naturally-gifted defensive back who should see the field early. Has a lot of upside and physical development left. Great competitor.
