Evaluation: Jones is one of the more versatile defensive linemen in this 2009 class. He has the physical tools to develop into a stout interior run defender as well as a disruptive edge rusher. He possesses great get-off and is deceptively quick playing down the line of scrimmage. He utilizes his good power and raw strength to jolt blockers back at the point of attack as well. Has the rare quickness to penetrate and the strength to bull-rush. Jones will most likely begin his college career at end, but he could grow into a tackle with added bulk or become a productive swing player.
